Training Talk Video #17 is LIVE and this week Sakiko Minagawa, women’s winner of the 2021 Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon and a registered Sports Medicine Dietitian, joins us to talk about food intake before OUR race.
Knowing what you should and should not eat before such a big day can be daunting. The first thing to remember, as always, is nothing new! Stick to foods you know your body digests well—and ones that provide a good source of energy for the race ahead. Some great options include bread (like a bagel or toast with nut butter), oatmeal or bananas!
What are your favorite foods to eat before a big race? Let us know in the comments and maybe you’ll find a new favorite! Just don’t wait until race weekend to try it!
Thanks for watching and stay tuned for next week’s video!
